Between October and March, most walks happen in the dark. A dog on an unlit street is nearly invisible to a driver until they're close — and a dark-coated dog is harder still.
The Hi-Vis Vest is built for exactly that half-hour after sunset. Fluorescent green fabric does the work in low light; wide reflective banding across the back and sides throws headlights straight back at the driver, so your dog reads as something to slow down for well before you'd otherwise be noticed.
What it does
- Visible from every angle. Reflective banding wraps the back and both sides, so your dog is picked up whether a car is behind you, beside you, or turning across.
- On in two seconds. Hook-and-loop closure at the neck and belly. No stepping into leg holes, no buckles to fight with a dog that's already excited to go.
- Breathable, not bulky. Polyester mesh that won't overheat on a warm evening or weigh a small dog down.

How reflective fabric works
Fluorescent green is doing one job and the reflective banding is doing another. Fluorescent material is what makes your dog stand out at dusk and in overcast light, when there's still ambient light to work with. Reflective banding takes over once it's fully dark — it returns headlight beams toward their source, which is why a reflective strip lights up brightly to a driver while looking dull to you standing beside it.
Together they cover the whole range of conditions you actually walk in.

Fit is measured by chest girth — the circumference of the widest part of the chest, just behind the front legs.

If your dog measures between 21.5" and 26.5", size up to L. The vest is adjustable at the belly and a slightly roomy fit works; a tight one doesn't.
Largest fit is a 36.5" chest. That covers most Labradors and Boxers. If your dog is a large shepherd, retriever, or anything bigger, measure first — this may not be the right vest for you, and we'd rather tell you now.
How to measure your dog
- Chest: Run a soft tape around the widest part of the chest, just behind the front legs. Keep it snug, not tight. Add two inches to what you read.
- Back: Measure along the spine from the base of the neck to the base of the tail.
If you're between sizes, take the larger one.

If your dog falls between two sizes, choose the larger one — the belly strap adjusts to take up the slack.
Our largest size fits up to a 36.6 inch (93 cm) chest. If your dog measures more than that, this vest won't fit, and we'd rather tell you before you order.

This is a visibility vest rather than a harness. There's no leash attachment and it isn't designed to restrain or control your dog — keep using the harness or collar you already have. The vest goes on over the top.
Reflective gear improves visibility. It doesn't guarantee that a driver will see your dog and it's no substitute for a leash near traffic. This is a pet accessory, not certified safety equipment, and it isn't rated to any road-safety standard.
It's built for visibility rather than warmth. In cold weather, layer it over a coat.

Before you buy
How do I choose the right size?
Measure your dog's chest around the widest part just behind the front legs, the neck where a collar sits, and the back along the spine from neck to tail. Compare those three measurements with our size guide. Dogs of the same breed vary a lot, so measure rather than ordering by breed.
What if my dog is between sizes?
Take the larger one. The belly strap tightens to take up the slack, so a slightly roomy vest works fine — a tight one doesn't. Fit is the single most common reason dog apparel gets returned, and sizing up prevents most of it.
Is this a walking harness?
No. It's a visibility vest with no leash attachment, and it isn't designed to restrain or control your dog. Keep using the harness or collar you already have — the vest goes on over the top.
How is it reflective?
Two things work together. The fluorescent lime fabric stands out at dusk and in overcast light, while the grey reflective trim catches headlights, streetlights and torch beams once it's properly dark. That's why the trim looks muted to you up close but bright to a driver with headlights on.
How should it fit?
Comfortably around the body — snug enough that it doesn't rotate as your dog moves, loose enough to slide a couple of fingers underneath.
