Most walks happen in the dark now.

From October to March, the walk before work and the walk after it both happen without daylight. Your dog knows the route. The driver coming around the corner does not know your dog is on it.

That is the whole reason Beckon exists. Not a lifestyle brand, not a subscription box. Gear for the specific half hour where a dog is hardest to see and a driver has the least time to react.

What we make

We started with one thing and did it properly: a high-visibility reflective vest that goes on in two seconds, fits over whatever harness your dog already wears, and does two different jobs at once. The fluorescent fabric works at dusk and in overcast light, when there is still ambient light to catch. The reflective banding takes over in full dark, throwing headlights back toward the driver.

More is coming, and it will follow the same rule: things dog owners actually use on actual walks, not things that photograph well.

How we work

We are small and we would rather be straight with you than polished. Our gear is made by a manufacturing partner overseas and ships direct, which takes 7 to 14 business days and is why a well-made vest costs $24.95 instead of $45. We say that on the product page, in the shipping policy, and here, because finding out from a tracking page is worse.

If something arrives wrong, email us and we will fix it. We do not argue about $25.

One thing we will not tell you

No vest makes a dog safe. High-visibility gear buys a driver more time to see your dog and more distance to react. It is not a substitute for a leash, for paying attention, or for choosing where you walk. We sell visibility. The rest is still on us as owners.
